COLLEGE TRANSITION NIGHTS SCHEDULED
Special evening meetings for MVTPC Tech Prep seniors who plan to attend Sinclair Community College next fall have been scheduled during May. The meetings will provide students and their parents or guardians complete information on important college transitions timelines, requirements and benefits related to tech prep scholarships, articulated or proficiency credits, academic advising, co-op and work study opportunities and specific degree/certificate options within Tech Prep pathways at Sinclair. Four evening sessions are scheduled corresponding to the particular Sinclair division in which in-coming tech prep students will enroll. All sessions will be held from 6:00 pm till 7:30 pm in Charity Auditorium, Building 12 located at the corner of Fourth and Perry Streets with complimentary parking in the underground lot, entering off Fourth Street. See dates of specific division and pathway meetings in the left hand column under “Upcoming Events.” Additional information will be sent directly to tech prep instructors at all secondary partner sites later this month for distribution to seniors. “SHOWCASE” TO BE HELD APRIL 21
The annual Miami Valley Tech Prep “Showcase” will be held at Sinclair Community College on Monday, April 21. This year’s event, originally scheduled for February 22 but cancelled due to inclement weather, will feature nearly 70 capstone project entries presented by teams of Tech Prep students from high schools and career centers throughout the Miami Valley. Judging begins at 9:00 am and the public is invited to view projects throughout the morning. The event will be held in Building 12. Go here for more information or contact Dave McDaniel.

EXECUTIVE LUNCHEON RESCHEDULED TO MAY 2
The closing luncheon of the 2007-08 “Executive Session Luncheon” series has been rescheduled to Friday, May 2 from 11:30 am till 1:00 pm in the Great Hall of Building 12 at Sinclair Community College. The luncheon program will honor winning and runner-up teams from the April 21 MVTPC “Showcase.” The luncheons are free and open to all Miami Valley area education, business and community stakeholders. TECH PREP SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS COMING SOON
Announcements of Tech Prep scholarships will be mailed in early May to qualifying graduating tech prep seniors. Eligibility requirements include completion of the high school pathway program with a minimum of a 2.25 GPA and matriculation to Sinclair no later than Spring term of the 2008-09 school year, remaining in the pathway begun in high school.
