Choosing Your Destination

Activity 3 – Essay

To successfully complete this unit, you must write a persuasive essay in which you defend your career choice. Establish a controlling idea, support arguments with detailed evidence, exclude irrelevant information and cite sources of information. The written essay will be graded using the attached rubric. Place your essay in your career journal.

Finally, you will present your future plans, including your career path/career goals and your personal goals, to an audience of eighth grade students, your classmates and your parents.

• Use your process flowchart to help structure your presentation.
  
  
• Include your process flowchart as a visual aide, as well as any other visual aide that you find relevant.
  
  
• Explain how you came to your decision.
  
  
• Give a brief oral presentation to audiences including eighth graders, classmates and parents. Time requirements and restrictions will be set by your teacher.
