Activity 7 – On-the-Job Training

Are you ready to start working right after graduation? Perhaps on-the-job training is for you. Many businesses offer opportunities for training and advancement through their own programs. Trade associations often offer paid apprenticeships as well.

Consider some of the following links to see if this is a choice for your career path:

• Trade Apprenticeships - this article explains what a trade apprenticeship is and explores opportunities in Ohio.

AmeriCorps and Job Corps are also great options for receiving training. These organizations offer education in exchange for volunteering and performing community services. The following links provide more information:

Another option is to think of businesses in your area. Check their Web sites to see if they have similar opportunities.
