Frequently Asked Scholarship Questions:

Q: My placement scores indicate I need developmental courses in one or more areas. Can I still receive the Tech Prep Scholarship?

A: The scholarship will not pay for developmental course work, but it will pay for courses toward your college degree. You can pay to take developmental courses and, at the same time, take other courses that the scholarship will pay for. Other forms of financial aid may apply to developmental courses. Developmental courses do count toward your full time status.

Q: Do I have to stay in the same Tech Prep program I took in high school to qualify for the scholarship?

A: In most cases, yes. Some high school Tech Prep programs called "clusters" do have optional degree programs at Sinclair. For more information contact the Tech Prep Ombudsman.

Q: When do I have to begin at Sinclair to be eligible for the scholarship?

A: The scholarship becomes available in the fall quarter following your high school graduation. You must enroll no later than the spring of your high school graduation. For lapses of more than one year, you will need to file a petition with the Tech Prep Ombudsman.

Q: Is there a way I can attend less than full time and still receive the scholarship?

A: You may access your scholarship on a pro-rated basis for 9 to 11 quarter hours per quarter.
