TIES
The TIES program has been discontinued.
Teachers in Industry for Educational Support (TIES) was conceived in 1995 to connect educators and industry in a real world way. Industry has a need to hire skilled, effective employees; educators are interested in preparing their students for meaningful work in society. The TIES program was designed to serve students, educators, and industry, while promoting partnerships among them.
Projects have been as diverse as developing employee safety programs and manuals, renovating student housing, analyzing manufacturing processes and material flow to improve productivity, developing employee training materials and facilitating training, and conducting market research and creating a product marketing strategy. Exposure to, and use of, information technology is prevalent in most projects.
