TIES Curriculum Module

Title: Developing and Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle

Teachers: Minnich, Slaven

Business: Hipple Cancer Research Center

Description: This unit is designed to assist our young people in developing healthy lifestyles, that in turn can lead to the possible prevention of cancer and other life threatening diseases. Students often lack awareness of how their habits and routines can affect their future health. Our nine lessons include activities that encourage students to assess their own habits and routines and to commit to a behavioral change. This type of curriculum is limitless in possibilities for any classroom and on any job site. If you practice a healthy lifestyle, chances are you will be a healthy and valuable worker. Our curriculum is aimed at high school age students, but can be adapted to fit any age group. We suggest this unit will take approximately a month to complete.

Subjects: Math, Careers/Life Skills/Family & Consumer Science/Vocational, Health/Physical Education

Grade Level:  9-12
