TIES Curriculum Module

Title: Rocketry

Teachers: Cahill, Deady, Johnson, Koehler

Description: Rocketry is an excellent means for integrating Science with Math, English and History. Rocketry brings science to life through the exploration of its components and concepts which can culminate in an actual launch experience. Rocketry provides a means for teaching many scientific concepts; such as, aerodynamics, and Newton's Laws of Motion. It is great for teaching math concepts; such as, geometric applications, formula calculations, and problem solving skills. In investigating the rocket components and concepts, student will learn to follow directions, read diagrams, and be introduced to important vocabulary. Finally, rocketry provides a historical look at scientific research and discovery.
