Description: Cox Arboretum offers a variety of educational programs that relate to food and the science of nutrition. This curriculum project focuses on food that most students eat on a daily basis: junk food! The purpose of the project is to develop an awareness of the long term, harmful effects that fast food and bad eating habits can have on teens. Although the unit is designed for grades 9-12 in the subject areas of Math and English, it could easily be adapted for other grade levels or subjects.
