TECH PREP SHOWCASE 2007

Seventy-four tech prep teams representing nearly 300 students from high schools and career centers throughout the Miami Valley will compete for honors on March 1st at Sinclair Community College in the 2007 Miami Valley Tech Prep “Showcase.” Teams compete before industry judges with capstone projects in ten different tech prep pathway categories. Champion and runner-up teams within each category receive trophies and are recognized at a special luncheon later in the spring. The public is invited to view team projects between 10:30 and 11:30 am in Building 12 at Sinclair. Complimentary parking is available in the underground lot. WOMEN IN ENGINEERING DAY
9 th and 10 th grade girls from high schools within the MVTPC are invited to attend a “W E Can – Women Engineers and Scientists and Technologists Can!” day at Sinclair Community College on Friday, March 9th from 9:30 am till 1:00 pm. The event, sponsored by MVTPC with funding through the College and Career Transitions Initiative, will include panel discussions with professional women, Sinclair Community College alumni, faculty and students, hands-on engineering activities, displays and exhibits of the industries and career fields and, of course, lunch. PARENT OPEN HOUSE

MVTPC will host its annual Parent Open House evening from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on February 21 in Charity Early Auditorium (Building 12) at Sinclair Community College . The event provides an opportunity for parents/guardians of students considering a tech prep pathway to speak directly with MVTPC staff and college representatives on pathway options, financial aid, employment forecasts and more. No reservations are required and attendees may arrive and leave at any point during the evening. For more information

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELOR BREAKFAST
