Commitment On-Line Proficiency Testing
2009-2010
The courses which you are about to submit electronically, are available for your Tech Prep students to take as a proficiency exam and receive college credit. The high school teacher agrees to deliver the class content for these courses. There will be no charge to the student or high school if the following process is followed.
- On-line registration for MVTPC 2009-2010 proficiency testing can be found at http://www.mvtechprep.org/online-forms/Proficiency_Course_Delivery_Form/
- The window to register on-line for 2009-2010 Tech Prep proficiency testing will open on Monday – September 30, 2009. It will close on Friday – December 18, 2009. These are the only dates when on-line registration is to be made available.
- Due to budgetary limitations, completion rates and cancelled sessions will be closely monitored by MVTPC.
- • Eligibility for proficiency testing is subject to the secondary instructor(s) responsible for the delivery of college content attending his/her respective 2009-2010 Faculty Summit. Dates and times of each Faculty Summit were made available to all MVTPC secondary partners during the week of September 8, 2009.
- Teachers are expected to sign up for only those tests which they are confident their students can successfully complete.
- • Proficiency exams are scheduled through the Sinclair faculty facilitator listed in your current resource guide. These individuals will receive an automatic notification of your commitment to test once you electronically submit your registration. The faculty facilitator can also provide you with information about the course content and learning outcomes. Copies of the current college master syllabi can be found at http://www.sinclair.edu/bulletin/index.cfm?browseID=all and by selecting appropriate department/course. Master syllabi can also be accessed at http://www.mvtechprep.org/programs/ and selecting the relevant Tech Prep pathway template.
- Schedule the exam(s) as a class. No exams will be taken on an individual basis. The exam can only be given to Tech Prep students who are listed on MVTPC’s official transmittal form.
- Only one class sitting per course, at each site, is allowed. There will be NO additional sittings for students who miss the scheduled test time.
- The College will determine the scheduling and frequency of the exam(s).
- Proficiency exams result in a letter grade. Only grades of a “C” or better will be posted to a student’s transcript. In order to transfer the credits to another college, students will need to pay for a Sinclair Community College transcript. Refer to the current Sinclair course catalog for instructions on how to obtain a transcript. If attending Sinclair, the credits and grade will be a part of the student’s record when they register with an academic counselor.
